Hazrat
Fatimah (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anha) was the youngest daughter of Rasoolullah
(Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and she was his most beloved daughter. Allama Ibn
Jauzi (Rahmatullah Alaih) states that she was born 5 years before the
announcement of Prophethood. [Zarqaani]
Bukhari
and Muslim Shareef narrate a Hadith in which Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam) said, “Fatimah is a flesh from within me. Whosoever infuriates her
has infuriated me. Whatever displeases her displeases me and whatever hurts
her, hurts me.” [Mishkaatul Masaabeeh]
Rasoolullah
(Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “Fatimah is the leader of the women of
Jannah.” [Bukhari Shareef ].
Allamah Nabhaani (Rahmatullah Alaih) states that many scholars state that
Hazrat Fatimah (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anha) is the most virtuous woman in the
universe and even more virtuous than Hazrat Mariam (Radiallahu Ta’ala
Anha). It is narrated by Hazrat Ibn Abdul Birr (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) that
Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said to Hazrat Fatimah (Radiallahu
Ta’ala Anha), “My daughter, are you not pleased that you are the leader of the
universe’s women?” She then asked, “My Father, where is Mariam (in terms of
status)?” Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) replied, “She was the leader
of the women of her time.”
Sayyiduna
Abu Ayyub (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) narrates that on the day of Judgement a
caller shall call out, “O people of the congregation! Bow your heads and lower
your gazes until Fatimah, the daughter of Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)
passes the bridge of Siraat.” She shall then pass the bridge in the company of
seventy thousand maids from the heavenly virgins like the speed of lightening.
[Sawaa’iq Muharraqah]
Imaam
Nisaai (Rahmatullah Alaih) narrates that Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam) said, “Indeed my daughter, Fatimah is a heavenly nymph in a human
form. She has never menstruated.” [Ash-Sharf-ul-Mu’abbad]
Imam
Jalaaluddeen Suyuti (Rahmatullah Alaih) has mentioned that one of the specialities
of Sayyidah Fatimah (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anha) is the fact that she never
experienced menstruation. When she would give birth to a child, the postpartum
period (Nifaas) would only last a few minutes and thus she would not miss a
Salaah. This is why she was named ‘Az-Zahra’. [Khasaa’is‑ul-Kubra]
One day
when Hazrat Fatimah (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anha) felt hungry, Rasoolullah
(Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) placed his blessed hand on her chest. After that
moment, she never felt hunger. Another speciality of Hazrat Fatimah (Radiallahu
Ta’ala Anha) is the fact that when the time of her demise came, she bathed and
advised that no one should expose her. Hazrat Ali (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh)
therefore buried her without bathing her again. [Barakaate Aale Rasool ]
The demise
of Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) from this world was an extremely
traumatizing event in the life of Hazrat Fatimah (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anha). She
had never been seen laughing after that day. Six months after the demise of
Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), Hazrat Fatimah (Radiallahu Ta’ala
Anha) passed away during the night on Tuesday 3rd Ramadan 11 AH and was buried
in Jannatul Baqi. Her demise was the physical manifestation of the prophecy of
Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) as he had informed her that the first
person to meet him from his family would be her. [Khutbaat-e-Muharram]
